Over the past couple of weeks we have been travelling the length and breadth of Britain with our friends Avanti providing sound equipment and engineers for the filming of BBC Songs of Praise. Northwood House Our first stint was at Northwood House in the Isle of Wight as part of the Wight Proms. Special guests included the Kingdom Choir, and Aled Jones & Russel Watson. This was one of the first outings for our new Sennheiser D6000 series radio microphones with rechargeable batteries. It was also the first time for our Coda Audio Hops 5 and Hops 8 speakers to be used as band monitors, which proved a hit with the musicians! We were delighted to return to Cardiff’s Civic Centre this weekend for Pride Cymru's Big Weekend. This year was Pride Cymru’s 20th anniversary and we celebrated in style! Headlining the main stage this year were Texas, Liberty X, Atomic Kitten, Samantha Mumba, Bang Bang Romeo (Fresh from their tour with P!nk), Donna Marie as Lady Gaga, and a DJ set from Gok Wan. We supplied our EAW KF740 system for the Main Stage PA on the City Hall lawn. EAW MicroWedge 15’s for stage monitors and our Sennheiser In-Ear Monitoring system with Midas Pro series desks at Front of House and monitor position. This July we returned to Hafod y Dafal farm for Steelhouse Festival 2019. The torrential rains held off this year while the likes of Those Damn Crows, Thunder and Thin Lizzy took to the stage and rocked our EAW KF740 system! We also supplied EAW KF394’s as front fills, an EAW KF730 system as on-stage side fills, and our EAW MicroWedge 15’s as band monitors which meant that this year was louder than ever! Having our Midas Pro 1 to control the monitors, and a choice of either a Midas Pro 2 or Avid Profile at Front of House position proved a hit with the touring engineers. This Spring saw the ABacoustics team back at the Principality Stadium for Wales’ home games as part of the Guinness Six Nations Championship. The Welsh capitol welcomed rugby fans from far and wide as our boys brought home the Triple Crown, the 6 Nations trophy and the coveted Grand Slam after beating our Irish cousins from across the pond! We provided our usual audio tech support for pre-game entertainment, announcements and match day music, one of which landed our engineer in a bit of hot water with Irish fans!
