Songs of Praise

Over the past couple of weeks we have been travelling the length and breadth of Britain with our friends Avanti providing sound equipment and engineers for the filming of BBC Songs of Praise.

Northwood House

Our first stint was at Northwood House in the Isle of Wight as part of the Wight Proms. Special guests included the Kingdom Choir, and Aled Jones & Russel Watson. This was one of the first outings for our new Sennheiser D6000 series radio microphones with rechargeable batteries. It was also the first time for our Coda Audio Hops 5 and Hops 8 speakers to be used as band monitors, which proved a hit with the musicians!

We then took the show to the beautiful De Montfort Hall in Leicester for the recording of the Songs of Praise UK’s Favourite Hymn programme. We supplied engineers, our new Allen & Heath SQ5 mixing console, Sennheiser radio microphones for the artists, microphones for the Simon Lole Orchestra, and Schoeps microphones for the De Montfort University Gospel Choir and congregation. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the in house crew at the Hall who made our job much easier and more enjoyable.

UK’s Favourite Hymn with special guests Lesley Garrett, Colin Thackery, and Aled Jones & Russel Watson will be aired on BBC One on the 29th of September at 13:15.
