ABacoustics were delighted to be a part of the first Proms In The Park to take place in North Wales. We took our trusty EAW 730 PA system and Logic Systems CA rig to Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay to provide sound for the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales, and their special guests: Tony Hadley, Amy Wadge, Wynne Evans, and BBC Young Musician 2016, Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
We also supplied all of our DPA 4060 and 4099 microphones for the string section of the orchestra – which left our shelves looking quite bare in the workshop! It was also the first outing for our new DPA D:Facto vocal microphones, which turned out to be a fantastic addition to our hire stock.
Unfortunately we were unable to fulfil Tony Hadley’s request of ‘two BIG monitors’, but our four Micro Wedge 10’s proved to be more than suitable, whilst also giving Mr Hadley the freedom to move around stage.
ABacoustics would like to thank BBC Cymru | Wales for the invitation, and BBC NOW sound supervisor Huw Thomas. We would also like to thank Tim Gray from The Music Group for lending us a Midas Pro X.
